William Simmelink Joins Company's Leadership Team

 

Tel Aviv, Israel and Newark, CA - CopperGate Communications, Challenge Fund II portfolio company, the leading provider of standards-based technology for networking high-speed entertainment data throughout the home over existing wires, today announced that William (Bill) Simmelink has joined the company in this newly created position of President, North American Operations. Mr. Simmelink, an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in management, sales, marketing and business development in high-tech companies, will be responsible for managing and growing the company's operations in North America.

 

Mr. Simmelinkjoins CopperGate from Texas Instruments where he was General Manager ofthe Packet Voice and Video Business Unit responsible for all aspects of the business, including P&L, silicon and software products, engineering and marketing. Under his leadership, the business experienced robust growth, positioning TI as the industry's leading supplier of VoiceOver-IP products. Before Texas Instruments, Mr. Simmelink served as vice president of business development and vice president of sales at Telogy Networks, one of the industry's pioneers and strongest players in Voice-Over-IP, acquired by Texas Instruments in 1999. Mr. Simmelink received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University.
